Recently, we ran into an issue with how Builder v2 stored themes. We reached a filesystem limit that prevented any new themes to be saved. This problem was directly related to why the site was flaky from Tuesday-Thursday last week. Ultimately, whenever a theme was saved, the site would slow down to a crash.

Why we have been down the past 24 hours.

We recently have been getting complaints that the upload features on the theme builder were not functioning correctly. For some reason, the image would remain uploading forever, and when you refreshed the page the image would then be available.

Last night, we shut down the theme builder to try to investigate this issue. We ended up completely removing the old upload system and replacing it with a new and faster upload system written from scratch. After many facepalms a..

Over the past weekend we have been in the process of transferring CodeThemed to a new and faster server. Our old web host plagued our site with random Internal Server Errors and server crashes. So far with our new web host, MediaTemple, our site has been running faster and more smoothly than ever before, and hasn't crashed once.
